MY APPROACH

• I have a patient teaching style with 25+ years experience at the University level. 

• My teaching method is grounded solidly in concepts of proper technique using mechanical advantage and ergonomic movement. 

• I have a extensive knowledge of guitar methods and repertoire as well as a comprehensive knowledge of fingerboard harmony and stylistic performance practice.

• Master's degree in performance and teaching from North Carolina School of the Arts.  

First, I listen.

I’ll start with a friendly chat to learn more about you, your experience, and interests. Once I understand your unique needs, I'll create a tailored lesson plan based on your specific goals and interests.  

Lastly, we build.

Together, we build upon the foundation of a solid technique and a cohesive approach to studying all aspects of music that sets you on a path of fun and learning for life.

Music connects us. When times are hard, it helps us reconnect with the joy that makes us strong. In this time of social distancing, music is more important than ever, that's why I've decided to offer online lessons so that more people can experience the joy of music in their own homes.

Online Lessons 

Learn to play the guitar in the comfort of your own home. I use Google Meet video conferencing. It works on Android phones, iPhone or your computer or tablet. All you need is an Internet connection and you're good to go.
